New businesses sprucing up old Fort Smith places

Among nearly $16 million in building permit valuations for Fort Smith in July are two businesses fixing up old buildings along Old Greenwood Road.

Unoccupied for at least two years, the spaces at 5003 and 5005 Old Greenwood Road will be ready for business within a couple months.

The Hill Firm-Architect in Fort Smith will have 5003 Old Greenwood Road as its new office and provide space for three other businesses. The architects are currently located at 6609 Rogers Ave.

Jay Hill of the architecture firm said while painting the exterior of the former United Medical one of the three other spaces remains available through Hill’s other business, Evolve Properties. An insurance firm will also occupy a space there. The Hill Firm lists the new Vertical Horizons Climbing Gym on South 91st Street as one of its projects.
