Member-owned Farmer Electric Cooperative started in 1937 and was formed to improve the quality of life for rural Arkansans.

The cooperative is a proud sponsor of the Farm Family of Year award given out by the Electrical Cooperatives of Arkansas. Winners are selected based on farm production, community leadership and involvement, and efficiency/management. See more

Affordable prices can be offered by the cooperative because they purchase electricity wholesale through a network. One of the seventeen distribution cooperatives in the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas network, Farmers Electric Cooperative serves Independence, Jackson, Poinsett and Woodruff counties. Concern for Community

This is one of the seven principles that guide the electric cooperatives. One way we accomplish this is through programs designed for youth of various ages. From electrical safety programs to the annual Youth Tour to Washington, we are committed to the youth of Arkansas.
