Member-owned Farmer Electric Cooperative started in 1937 and was formed to improve the quality of life for rural Arkansans.

The cooperative is a proud sponsor of the Farm Family of Year award given out by the Electrical Cooperatives of Arkansas. Winners are selected based on farm production, community leadership and involvement, and efficiency/management. See more

Affordable prices can be offered by the cooperative because they purchase electricity wholesale through a network. One of the seventeen distribution cooperatives in the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas network, Farmers Electric Cooperative serves Independence, Jackson, Poinsett and Woodruff counties.
